Education
We’re committed to supporting the future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
Supporting Education
DriveWorks has a long history of supporting young people and education. We work to inspire the next generation, providing them with information on the different types of career paths available and how to gain the skills needed in the industry. Our connections with education have enabled us to:
- share careers insights with students studying STEM subjects
- provide work experience placements for students in higher education and beyond
- deliver a successful university placement programme for university students
- present on careers in technology, engineering and computing
- host DriveWorks training and certification sessions for students
- provide a self-guided certification programme for students and educators
Supporting education
We invest in our team, providing opportunities to learn and expand their knowledge. We also support students and academia to nurture the future of STEM and help students succeed.
Training & certifications
We’ve created free training and certification programs for anyone with access to desktop SOLIDWORKS. The programs enable students and professionals to add new skills to their résumé, giving them an advantage in a competitive jobs market. Students can access the full training and certification online to learn and get certified at a time and location that suits them, joining a global community of certified DriveWorks users.
Schools & colleges
We work closely with students in higher education at local schools and colleges to provide meaningful experiences of the workplace in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks. This includes work experience opportunities, employee-led talks on specific areas of interest, as well as on site events to enable students to explore different career opportunities.

DriveWorksXpress is taught in schools and universities around the world, providing students with sought after skills and knowledge to prepare them for careers in industry. In the UK, members of the DriveWorks Technical team host in-person annual training and certification days with universities as part of the curriculum.

Apprenticeships
We take on students as degree apprentices, enabling them to achieve a degree in their chosen field while working for us and gaining valuable experience in industry. We work alongside the student’s chosen university, providing ongoing support to students as well as helping them develop job-specific skills and giving them a head start on their career.
Internships
Real-world experiences for students, with internships from 1 week to 1 year. Our interns work on projects that are valuable to our business and to their own learning and development, relevant to their chosen field of study. Many of our interns return to DriveWorks once they have finished their studies to complete a graduate scheme with us.
Graduate schemes
18-month training and development programmes designed to give graduates the skills and expertise they need to succeed in their field, with full-time roles available upon completion. Graduates are supported with internal and external training, learning and development plans and the opportunity to take certifications and earn accreditations.
