Last week we took part in National Manufacturing Day 2024. The theme for NMD2024 was “Opening doors for future makers” and we opened the doors of DriveWorks HQ to showcase how technology is helping to transform the manufacturing industry.
We were joined by STEM students and educators from Priestly College, UTC Warrington, The University of Huddersfield, and Trafford & Stockport College to learn about some of the career opportunities available in manufacturing that they may be less familiar with. We shared how, as Department for Business and Trade Export Champions, we build, sell, and support our software from our headquarters in Warrington to manufacturers around the world.
We were also pleased to be joined by Jackie Emson of the Warrington & Co. Business Exchange , Sarah Hall, MP for Warrington South, David Briggs, retired Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Howard Platt DL, our Laskey Farm landlord and Chairman of Locker Group Ltd, Stuart Beardsworth from Enterprise Cheshire & Warrington, Andreas Johansen from Innovate UK, David Smyth of Warrington Borough Council, together with DriveWorks customer F.H Brundle.
Our guests explored our technology and had the opportunity to get hands-on with our software. Everyone at DriveWorks HQ was proud to share their skills and insight and demonstrate our technology. Our apprentice team members also took part in a Q&A session with some of our placement students, graduates and heads of departments, to share more about different career paths in the manufacturing technology sector.
Opening our doors and sharing our technology, our work spaces, our expertise and our passion for STEM was an absolute privilege and we were very proud to be part of National Manufacturing Day 2024. Thank you to everyone who came and helped to make the day such a success.

Career opportunities at DriveWorks
We aim to make DriveWorks a great place to work and reward our team for their hard work and commitment. As a company, we care about investing in our people, their learning and development and having the right tools and technologies to work smarter.
The ideas and opinions of everyone in our team really matter to us. Whether it’s a suggestion about our software, our offices, or even just the type of teabags we have, we listen and we act. From the mugs we drink from to the shirts we wear, we are proud of who we are and what we do.
