We love meeting people who have an interest in technology, who are passionate and keen to learn.
This month we’re focusing on the Education Sector and the role that DriveWorks plays when educating our team, customers and resellers.
Each year we invest in our team and we recruit several interns to join or Technical, Development and Commercial teams for 12 month placements. This is a great opportunity for the students to gain real world experience to help them with their studies and an even better opportunity for us to gain more great team members.
We’re proud to have achieved our Investors in People award and encourage personal development. Several of our employees are graduates that we’ve either met at careers/graduate fairs or who have joined us for 12 month work placements and returned once they have completed their studies.
So let’s find out what it’s like at DriveWorks for interns and graduates…
Interns at DriveWorks
Joe joined our technical support team for a 12 month placement, as an Applications Engineer. Although Joe had used SOLIDWORKS during his second year of university, he hadn’t used DriveWorksXpress until he applied for a placement with us.
Just before joining us, Joe downloaded our Mobile Gantry sample DriveWorksXpress projects to learn more and was impressed by how quickly he could create new iterations of models. From this, Joe explained how he thinks DriveWorksXpress is important for SOLIDWORKS students to know about:
“For one of my college projects, we were designing a part to be injection moulded – thinking back now, if we had known that DriveWorksXpress was available, I could have created hundreds of iterations with a couple of clicks that could then be analysed with the software we were using. I could have saved hours if I had had access to DriveWorksXpress”
Graduates at DriveWorks
Megan joined our Sales and Marketing team after graduating from the University of Huddersfield with a first class honors degree.
We first met Megan at a careers fair, we were really impressed by her great organisational skills and her professional manner and asked her to join our Sales and Marketing Graduate Scheme.
During her time with us Megan has attended several training courses, gained new qualifications and represented DriveWorks professionally at many events.
“DriveWorks has given me real responsibility and helped me realise my own potential. It’s also introduced me to a team focused environment, who have supported me and welcomed me throughout my whole learning experience.”
