DriveWorks Customer Story: Reducing Onboarding Time & Overtime Costs at Bruno Independent Living

Bruno is an industry-leading manufacturer of mobility products, helping people with disabilities to live an independent life. They are based in Wisconsin, US, and have distributors in the UK and France.

Bruno were using 2D systems for their design documents. They not only wanted to move to 3D design, but also wanted to automate their data generation and speed up their design process.

They used DriveWorks to help them achieve these goals.

Learn more about the business benefits Bruno achieved with DriveWorks technology

Automated engineering design & 3D visualization with DriveWorks

Bruno uses DriveWorks to capture and enforce the design rules for their curved stairlift product range. Their implementation is made up of multiple projects, where the user inputs details regarding the staircase, seating, and footrest requirements.

All of this data, and more, automatically drives the creation of a DriveWorks 3D visualization and a SOLIDWORKS® assembly. Sections of stairlift rail are individually brought into the assembly and mated to constrain their positions.

Benefits of Implementing DriveWorks for Bruno

By storing many of their product design rules in DriveWorks, Bruno have been able to reduce their staff onboarding process time for new staff by 50%.

Over a two year period, Bruno saw an increase to their drawing output by 15% while at the same time reducing the number of overtime hours they required.

Looking Ahead: Reducing Processing Time Further

Following the success of the project so far, Bruno have plans to add two more product ranges to their DriveWorks implementation, helping them reduce process time even more.
