3DEXPERIENCE World 2025 Highlights

3DEXPERIENCE World 2025 in Houston brought together thousands of engineers, designers, makers, students, entrepreneurs, and manufacturers for three days of innovation, collaboration, and inspiration. From groundbreaking technology to inspiring general session presentations, 3DXW25 showcased the transformative power of technology in shaping the future of design and engineering.

DriveWorks at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2025

This year, 12 members of the DriveWorks team headed to Houston to attend 3DEXPERIENCE World 2025.

As a silver sponsor of the event and a SOLIDWORKS Gold Partner, we were proud to be exhibiting, presenting, learning, and networking. We shared the benefits of our design automation and CPQ for Manufacturing technology with hundreds of visitors to our booth.

Alongside the DriveWorks booth, members of the DriveWorks team also hosted masterclass sessions where they shared their insight on achieving manufacturing efficiencies with DriveWorks technology.

Day 1 general session

Attendees celebrated 30 years of SOLIDWORKS and the impact of some of the products designed with SOLIDWORKS technology.

During the general session, attendees learned about SPOT, an agile robot, designed by Boston Dynamics, that can be used for sensing and inspection, capturing data, and exploring without the limitations of traditional robots. SPOT has been used to inspect oil rigs without putting humans at risk. After Hurricane Fiona hit Puerto Rico in 2022, SPOT was used to assess damage, help first responders and workers prioritize their efforts, and get aid to those in the most urgent need. SPOT was even used to safely and accurately explore the ancient ruins of Pompeii in Italy.

Day 2 general session

On day 2, attendees learned more about the future of 3DEXPERIENCE Works and SOLIDWORKS.

Manish Kumar, CEO of SOLIDWORKS, shared how user feedback shapes their R&D strategy. Every year at 3DEXPERIENCE World, users vote for the Top Ten enhancements they would like to see in future versions of SOLIDWORKS and 65% of those requests are implemented. SOLIDWORKS 2025 includes 38 enhancements straight from the Top Ten list.

Day 3 general session

The final general session of 3DEXPERIENCE World 2025 celebrated the SOLIDWORKS community and how their impact and inspiration transform lives and shape the future.

Learning about initiatives such as the Mass Robotics Jumpstart Fellowship Program, Field Ready, and the Fab Foundation, and celebrating SWUGN award winners, highlighted the collaborative and inclusive approach of the SOLIDWORKS community. In his keynote speech, Industrial Designer, Karim Rashid, shared his insight about the power of creativity, innovation, and design.

DriveWorks technology in action – getting our booth equipment to 3DXW25

Shipping an interactive booth from DriveWorks HQ in the UK out to Houston required a custom-made flight case to ensure all of the equipment made it to the event safely and securely.

We commissioned one of our DriveWorks customers, to manufacture a custom flight case with custom inserts to get the booth equipment safely across to Houston. The customer manufactures bespoke custom cases and uses DriveWorks technology to produce their custom designs.

Get hands on with the DriveWorks 3DXW25 booth in our 3D technology example

DriveWorks technology examples are DriveWorks projects built to explain each of the core technologies in DriveWorks. Each example shows you the features and performance that thousands of DriveWorks users rely on every day. Our technology examples enable you to see the building blocks that make up our technology and provide inspiration for how you could build a DriveWorks solution tailored to the unique needs of your business.

If you have seen any of our configurator examples, you’ll know that they use customizable 3D. Customers can see their custom products in 3D and view the effects of their design changes immediately. The technology that makes this possible happens under the hood and you may not even notice.

In the 3D technology example, you can explore how including decals in the DriveWorks booth scene adds detail and helps visually communicate with your users. You have full control over how your decals are displayed in your scene and you can use them to add company logos or include graphics.

See You Next Year!
