Every Thursday the DriveWorks Tech Team share their knowledge and expertise in 30 minute value added webinars exclusively for DriveWorks Reseller AEs and DriveWorks Pro customers on subscription support.
Each month as part of our Industry Spotlight Demonstrations, our Technical Team create industry specific Design Automation / Configurator projects that showcase the types of companies that can benefit from DriveWorks software.
In order to demonstrate the uses of DriveWorks within the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry, our Senior Applications Engineer, Dave, created an Air Handling Unit project.
This two part webinar looks at how Dave created the SOLIDWORKS models and a DriveWorks project to automate these models. It also covers how long it took to set up the project and discusses some of the major DriveWorks features used and how they help to create a custom HVAC design.
In the first part, Dave will cover:
– Creating the SOLIDWORKS models with Design Automation in mind
– Capturing the Models and Custom Properties
– Creating Forms and controlling the data.
– Demonstrating how Calculation Tables are used to control the Project data
In part two, Dave will look at:
– Creating the Specification Flow
– Creating Rules for the Model Generation
– Setting up the relevant documents and their Release Tasks
– Discussing the Project Output.
These webinars can be a source of inspiration on how to further automate your own products or perhaps help you solve a problem that you’ve been unable to overcome. Having in-depth knowledge of how a project has been created may also help you when trying to diagnose project issues.
Whilst creating this project Dave also learnt more about the many uses of DriveWorks and he will be sharing this knowledge with you throughout the webinars.
Our mission is to help you to help yourself and just like you, we are always learning!
This project is a fantastic example of the potential of DriveWorks to automate complex SOLIDWORKS Assemblies. There are over 8000 Rules, over 5000 Model Rules and nearly 100 Documents within this project. Try it for yourself by visiting www.driveworkslive.com.
