This month we’re focusing on Education.
We’re passionate about Design Automation and also believe in the importance of investing in the future of design and manufacturing, so we want to encourage students to use their educational licences of SOLIDWORKS.
The use of SOLIDWORKS within education helps to bridge the gap between ideas and technology by helping to prepare students for careers in design and engineering.
SOLIDWORKS offer three options for those in education; there is one aimed at Educators, one for Students and one for those engaged in Academic Research.
In particular SOLIDWORKS wants to equip students with vital skills that employers require. SOLIDWORKS is currently taught in over 24,000 universities worldwide and the education edition is designed to be an all-inclusive resource for teaching 3D mechanical CAD.
Each licence of SOLIDWORKS, including SOLIDWORKS Education, includes DriveWorksXpress, a SOLIDWORKS Gold Partner Product.
DriveWorksXpress is a free design automation tool that is ideal for repetitive design tasks and can be used to create multiple variations of SOLIDWORKS parts, assemblies and drawings, quickly and accurately.
It is a great way for students to learn about automation and how automating repetitive design tasks can free up engineers and product designers to spend more time on new product development, innovation and other value added work.
